The College of Arts and Sciences provides Drexel students with a firm foundation in either the liberal arts or sciences. This college is a perfect choice for the Still-Deciding Student, as well as the student who is planning on graduate or professional school. Students in arts and sciences at Drexel will gain the advantages of a liberal arts college combined with the resources of a major university.
Since its formation in 1990, the College of Arts and Sciences has established itself as a locus of scholarship and research at Drexel. It has the largest number of faculty in the University, offers about 40 percent of teh courses scheduled in each quarter, and has flourishing research programs.
An arts and sciences education bears the character that defines the Drexel experience, preparing students for a technological world and offering them the opportunity to apply their knowledge through co-operative ducation. More than that, however, it focuses on the modern and the contemporary, makes direct use of Philadelphia as a laboratory, and teaches students, as Anthony J. Drexel mandated, to lead useful lives. for arts and sciences graduates, this kind of education ahs resulted in immediate employment after graduation and in admission to some of the most prestigious graduate an dprofessional schools in the country.

A background in liberal arts allows graduates to choose careers from a wide range of fields, including politics, law, diplomacy, counseling, social work, theology, communications, and teaching. A background in teh sciences offers the same wealth of options, including medicine, research and development, physics, chemistry, mathematics, and computer science. Students planning to study medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, and law are guided through th eprocess by a faculty committee and a preprofessional advisor.
